The Annual Walk For Balin

Join Us for the Annual Walk for Balin

Every year on January 20th, we come together for the Annual Walk for Balin. This significant day, while filled with poignant memories for Michael and Kerri-Lyn, also stands as a powerful tribute to Balin’s life and legacy.

  • Date: January 20th
  • Starting Point: Kawana Surf Club
  • Ending Point: Balin’s Memorial Tree at La Balsa Park
  • Distance: 5km
  • Attire: White shirts
  • Cost: Free
  • Join the Walk: Lace up your walking shoes and join us for the 5km walk. Whether you walk the entire distance or join us partway, your presence makes a difference.
  • Wear White: Don your white shirt as a symbol of peace and remembrance. This visual unity underscores our shared commitment to the cause.
  • Spread the Word: Share the event with friends, family, and on social media. The more people who participate, the stronger our collective voice.
  • Donate: Contributions help fund our ongoing efforts to raise awareness about knife crime and support educational programs.

The walk begins at Kawana Surf Club and spans a 5km route to Balin’s Memorial Tree at La Balsa Park. As we walk, we wear our white shirts with pride, symbolizing unity, remembrance, and hope. This event is not only a commemoration of Balin’s life but also a communal effort to raise awareness and promote change.

Why January 20th Matters

For Michael and Kerri-Lyn, January 20th marks a day of profound loss. However, it has also become a day of collective strength and solidarity. Through the Annual Walk for Balin, we transform our grief into action, bringing the community together to honor Balin’s memory and advocate for safer, knife-free environments.

Making a Difference

The Annual Walk for Balin is more than a memorial; it’s a catalyst for change. Each step we take is a step towards a safer community, free from the shadow of knife violence. Your participation helps keep Balin’s spirit alive and supports the vital work we do in his name.

Join Us in Celebration and Advocacy

We invite everyone to participate in this meaningful event. Together, we can honor Balin’s memory, support Michael and Kerri-Lyn, and work towards a brighter, safer future for our youth.
